ARTBibliographies Modern

ARTBibliographies Modern is a key electronic resource for researchers studying modern and contemporary art. This database provides abstracts of English language and worldwide literature on art and design, photography and its history, art trends, and individual artists from the late nineteenth century to the present day. A wide range of subjects are indexed, including traditional media such as painting, printmaking and sculpture. Also covered are theatre arts, conservation, caricatures, crafts, ceramics, ethnic arts and fashion, along with new media such as computer and electronic art. The ARTBibliographies Modern database indexes an expansive range of materials, including books, journal articles, exhibition catalogs, essays and dissertations. The database provides abstracts from the late 1960.s to the present, with about 13,000 new entries added annually, and is updated six times per year. Researchers can locate this new database through the Databases heading on the GMU Libraries HomePage, alphabetically or under the heading "Arts and Humanities".
