ARTstor Digital Library
The ARTstor Digital Library is a comprehensive scholarly resource for
digital images, and includes online tools to actively utilize these
collections of worldwide art, sculpture and graphic design. The Charter
Collection includes more than 300,000 visual images that represent a wide
range of cultures, time periods and media.
ARTStor.s image collections are drawn from a variety of museums, photo
archives and archeological sites. The major areas of coverage include
architecture, art history, painting, photography and decorative arts, plus
many other forms of visual cultures and traditions. The collection is
expected to grow to 500,000 digitized images by 2006. Researchers can
locate this new database through the Databases heading on the GMU
Libraries Home Page, alphabetically or under the category "Arts &
