LibQUAL+™ @ George Mason

As part of ongoing efforts to ensure campus libraries exceed the service expectations of the University community, the University Libraries will survey undergraduate students in April 2008. Building upon initial survey steps in the fall of 2006 when students as well as faculty were surveyed, this round focuses on undergraduate use of the campus libraries and research needs. We once again ask for your candid opinion of library services.

The LibQUAL+™ survey assesses library users’ views on service quality. The survey will help us understand your expectations for library service in the following areas:

·          Collections

·          Library Space

·          Services

The LibQUAL+™ tool is widely used by libraries of all types and sizes. This tool has been rigorously tested over the past decade and allows comparison with our peers. By using a tool so widely used and tested, the Libraries can receive trusted data from our constituents. It also allows the Libraries to focus on the results, respond quickly to issues enumerated in the responses, and easily use the survey instrument as one piece of ongoing library assessment efforts.
