How to Find a Book

Do the University Libraries own a specific book? To find out, use the Libraries@Mason Online Catalog.

Search by AUTHOR
  • Select AUTHOR in the "Find Results In" Box
  • Type the AUTHOR'S LAST NAME FIRST NAME in the "FIND" box
  • Click the "Search" button
  •  
    Search by TITLE
  • Select TITLE in the "Find Results In" Box
  • Type the TITLE of the book in the "FIND" box
  • Don't use A, AN or THE as the TITLE'S first word (in any language)
  • Click the "Search" button
  •  
    Search by KEYWORDS
  • Select KEYWORD in the "Find Results In" Box
  • Type KEYWORDS using and, or, not to combine: college or university and student not pupil
  • Truncate using a question mark: educat?
  • Type quotes around phrases "United States"
  • Click the "Search" button
  •  
    Find It!
  • Location: Indicates which Mason Library owns item
  • Call Number: Indicates where item is located in the Library
  • Status: Indicates if item is checked out or not
