how to request materials from another library

 

Can't find the book, journal article or other resource you need at your campus library? Several services are available for you to obtain the item for your research.

InterCAMPUS Lending (ICL)

  • Service for Mason faculty, staff and students only.
  • Access to materials OWNED by the Mason Libraries (except Mason Law Library and Entrepreneurship Center).
  • All requests MUST be submitted electronically.
    Use: http://library.gmu.edu/requests/intra.html
    Fill out the form completely; avoid abbreviations.
  • Most material is obtained within a week. If the item is not on the shelf, an interlibrary loan request will be initiated for the item(s).

    Consortium Loan Service (CLS)

  • Service for Mason faculty, staff and students only.
  • Search the Washington Research Library Consortium / ALADIN Catalog
    Click on the item you want to borrow
    Click on Request through Consortium Loan Services (CLS)
  • Circulating books will be delivered to your library.
  • Journal articles may be delivered directly to you online or to your library.
  • Some loan restrictions apply to some materials; vary by library.

    Document Acquisition & Delivery (DAD/ILL)

  • Service for Mason faculty, staff and students only.
  • Provides access to needed materials which are not available at Mason libraries.
  • Some loan restrictions apply to some materials; vary by library.
  • Requests may be submitted electronically.
