Journals

You can locate electronic journals by searching the title of the journal in the E-Journal Finder.  

Use the Library Catalog to locate paper copies of the journal.  Paper copies of education journals are located on the first floor of Fenwick Library in the periodical collection.  Journals are shelved alphabetical by title.  

Books

You can find books by using the Library Catalog.  For help using the library catalog see the I need to know how to find a book guide.

Education books have call numbers that begin with the letter L.  For more details see the Library of Congress Classification Outline for Education.   Almost all of the Education books are shelved in the Johnson Center Library (JCL).  

Use the Print Resources in Education guide to find major dictionaries, encyclopedias, and other education reference books available in the library (some are e-books too!).   

Key reference book:  
Encyclopedia of Education 2nd edition (e-book).

You can find education e-books through the library's NetLibrary subscription.

The Virginia Department of Education Public Review Site for Textbooks and Instructional Materials is located on the second floor of the JCL.

Web Sites

Links to Web sites that offer online lesson plans, relevant news and information, as well as resources for both teachers and students. 

Government Resources and Statistics
Links to government publications and agencies including education statistics.

Professional Organizations
Links to the official Web sites for education associations and organizations.

Style Manuals 
Handy access to style guides and citation manuals compiled by Duke University's libraries.
