These searchable online resources provide access to article abstracts or full-text materials on French topics. They are restricted to GMU users.Click on a database below, and then scroll down to its name in the alphabetical list produced. Scroll down to Film Indexes Online, and within it, click on Search Film Index International for production information, a brief synopsis, and a bibliography of further resources.

Historical Abstracts
"Provides English language abstracts of scholarly literature (journal articles, articles in collections, dissertations, book reviews) on world history from 1450, excluding North America." Includes French history. Some of the sources are in French. Some full-text links.

International Index to the Performing Arts (IIPA)
Includes citations and many full text articles on French films, such as criticism and interviews.

ITER - Gateway to the Middle Ages and Renaissance
This project from the University of Toronto features a comprehensive bibliography of literature pertaining to the period 400-1700: books, articles, reviews, essays, conference proceedings, and more. Also includes many full-text issues of the scholarly journals Renaissance Quarterly and the bilingual Renaissance and Reformation / Renaissance et Réforme.

MLA International Bibliography
"Indexes scholarly works (journal articles, monographs, book chapters, dissertation abstracts, and series) on literature, languages, linguistics and folklore."

Oxford Reference Online
Includes electronic versions of The Concise Oxford-Hachette French Dictionary and The Oxford Business French Dictionary. From the list of 'O' databases, choose "Oxford Reference Online," then "Bilingual Dictionaries" and the book you want to search.
