Most books on French history topics can be found under the call number DC.
For reference books, browse Ref DC 14-DC 401 range on the first floor in the Fenwick Library. The Johnson Center Library carries the Cambridge Illustrated History of France, Ref DC 33 .J66 1994
Books on French history which may be checked out are located on the third floor of the Fenwick Library, under the DC 1-DC 801 range, and on the second floor of the Johnson Center Library, DC 16-801 range.
Browse the Library Catalog under the Subject France History and its subheadings, such as: century; ruler; or Revolution 1789-1799.
Search by individuals as Subjects, such as Charlemagne, Louis XIV, or Napoleon.
Search Subject by war as well, such as Hundred Years' War or Franco-Prussian War.
Books and articles not held by the GMU Libraries may be obtained through the WRLC (Washington Research Library Consortium) or Interlibrary Loan.

Historical Abstracts
"Provides English language abstracts of scholarly literature (journal articles, articles in collections, dissertations, book reviews) on world history from 1450, excluding North America." Includes French history. Some of the sources are in French. Some full-text links.
ITER - Gateway to the Middle Ages and Renaissance
This project from the University of Toronto features a comprehensive bibliography of literature pertaining to the period 400-1700: books, articles, reviews, essays, conference proceedings, and more. Also includes many full-text issues of the scholarly journals Renaissance Quarterly and the bilingual Renaissance and Reformation / Renaissance et Réforme.
