Government Periodicals Universe University Libraries is happy to announce a new database, Government Periodicals Universe, from Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe. Our subscription to Government Periodicals Universe provides an indexing service for over 170 current periodicals published by the United States government agencies. With retrospective coverage through 1988 of over 70 additional federal publications, this index provides broad subject coverage for fundamental societal concerns: business, agriculture, national security, the environmental and natural resources, health and safety, food and nutrition, transportation, and more. The index is updated quarterly and provides detailed access by subject and keyword. Users can view indexed journal title lists by alphabetical search through Periodical Information. To access Government Periodicals Universe on campus, go to the libraries home page http://library.gmu.edu and click "Alphabetical List" under Databases. Access to Government Periodicals Universe is restricted to faculty, staff, and students of George Mason University and will require access through a proxy server when used off campus. (See http://magik.gmu.edu/lso/proxy.html for more information)
