GIS Hardware/Software Availability in Fenwick
Library
Located at 1st floor in Fenwick Library, Government Documents Unit.
Hardware
- 1 PC workstation (called Memex): 20 GB hard disk drive, Dual
1.4 GHz, 512 MB RAM running Window XP equipped with 3 1/4"
floppy disk, Zip, and CD-ROM drives. 21" Super VGA Monitor.
- 1 PC workstation (called Tiger): 6 GB hard disk drive, 533
MHz, and 129 MB RAM running Window 2000 equipped with 3 1/4" floppy disk,
Zip and DVD drives.
GIS Software
The Libraries provides access to ArcView and ArcInfo software
packages from the university-wide ESRI site license.
The manual of these software are available at IT. Please contact Ron Hull
(703-993-3599) about the technical manual of the software packages.
Software Running on the Libraries' two computers:
- Desktop ArcGIS (ArcView 8.3, ArcEditor 8.3, and ArcInfo 8.3)
- ArcView 3.2 (including Spatial Analyst 1.1, Network Analyst
1.1, and 3-D Analyst 1.1)
- PC ArcInfo 3.5.2
- ArcView Tutorial
- Wessex Street 7.0 (for Tiger/Line Boundary Files 97) and
Profiler.
- Census CD (1970) by Geolytics: Access to the 1970 Census
Data down to the Census Tract including boundary files and mapping software.
- Census CD (1980) by Geolytics: Access to STF 1A and 3A for
1980 Census down to the Census Tract with thematic mapping capability
for a specific variable in an area.
- CensusCD+Maps (1990) by Geolytics:Access to STF 1A and 3A
for 1990 Census down to the Block Group with thematic mapping capability for
a specific variable in an area.
- LandView IV
- Tiger 2000 Census Street Index
- SAS
- SPSS
- Others (Adobe, FTP, MS Access, Excel, Power Pointer Viewer,
Winzip, etc)
Color Printing: Color printing
related to GIS project is available under certain circumstances. Please
