New Database Announcement |
|
Springer Verlag LINK
University Libraries is proud to announce a new full-text database, Springer LINK, available to the George Mason University community. Our subscription to LINK provides online, full-text access to over 480 journals and two book series (Lecture Notes in Computer Science and Topics in Current Chemistry) published by Springer and its partners.
LINK is divided into eleven Online Libraries by subject: chemical
sciences, computer science, economics, engineering, environmental sciences, geosciences, law, life sciences, mathematics, medicine, and physics & astronomy.
Users can view title lists by subject or view a list of all journal titles. Individual titles can be browsed through their table of contents. LINK also provides a number of search capabilities: simple searches on abstracts or standard bibliographic data, or expert searches by searching the full-text of articles, searching certain fields such as
author or title, and limiting searches by date, language and Online Library.
LINK offers a personalized service called LINK Alerts—register with the service and then via email, automatically receive the table of contents of any journal that interests you as soon as it is retrievable through LINK. LINK also provides Online First—articles that can be accessed in electronic form weeks before distribution of the print journal. Online
First articles are also announced through LINK Alerts.
Access Springer LINK at the libraries homepage http://library.gmu.edu through the Alphabetical List under Databases, or through the direct link http://link.springer-ny.com when on campus. Access to Springer LINK is restricted to faculty, staff and students of George Mason University and will require access through a proxy server when used off campus. (See http://magik.gmu.edu/lso/proxy.html for more information.)
