Disability Services

On the 1st floor (Room 134I) of the Johnson Center Library you will find equipment reserved for patrons with special needs. To access this equipment, please inquire at the 1st floor Media/Reserves desk. Equipment available in the adaptive technology room includes:

  • A computer equipped with "Openbook" software which allows visually challenged library users to scan printed materials and have them read with an electronic voice
  • "Visualtek" monitor allows low-vision library users to enlarge the text of printed materials
  • A library "Superterminal" equipped with special software allows library users to search the online catalog, CD-ROM databases, and the Internet while using text enlargement and screen reader software.
  • All University Libraries provide reasonable accomodation to library users with special needs. Upon request, arrangements can be made to assist users with locating and retreiving materials, photocopying or other services.
