Serials Coordinator

Ava Koohbor joined the Mercer Library team as the Serials Coordinator on February 25th.  Ava excelled as a Student Assistant at Mercer Library, and is currently working on a Master's degree in the Health Sciences.  Please drop by and introduce yourself as Ava settles into her new full-time position!

EndNote 6.0/7.0:  Managing Your Information

EndNote software allows you to access and search online bibliographic databases; retrieve references directly into a personalized library; and create bibliographies in a variety of citation styles using popular word processing software.

Short Course—helps organize information for both short and long term projects.  Learn how to import bibliographic citations from many popular Library databases into your own EndNote database.

Intensive Course—designed for those with long-term goals and will introduce concepts of information management using EndNote for easy access and production.  Learn how to customize EndNote to meet your specific needs and styles of organization.

DATABASE SPOTLIGHT

Literature Resource Center

Provided by VIVA funding, Gale's Literature Resource Center is a full-text resource that offers electronic access to biographies, bibliographies and critical analyses of authors and their works. This database covers more than 120,000 worldwide writers from a variety of literary periods and disciplines, including novelists, poets, essayists and playwrights. Also available here are the contents of such reference works as Dictionary of Literary Biography as well as full text material from Contemporary Literary Criticism and selected full-text from other Gale series such as Nineteenth Century Literary Criticism and Twentieth Century Literary Criticism. Literature Resource Center also includes access to the MLA International Bibliography, and provides student guides such as a Literary-Historical Timeline and MLA-Style Research Paper Guide. Researchers can access Literature Resource Center from the Databases category on the GMU Libraries HomePage, or under the subject category Arts & Humanities.
