Biography

Marissa Burkland started as the Sciences & Data Librarian at George Mason University in the Fall of 2023. She is originally from Upstate New York and has participated in many environmental organizations and campaigns such as NYRenews, the Rochester Sunrise Movement, and the 490Farmers Community Garden. 

What I do at Mason Libraries

As the Life Sciences Librarian, I provide research support and services to the faculty, staff, and students in the following departments in the College of Science:

  • Atmospheric, Oceanic, and Earth Sciences (AOES)
  • Biology
  • Environmental Science & Policy (ESP)
