Looking to your left, you see the Special Collections Research Center (SCRC), which acquires, documents, preserves, and provides access to primary research collections and documents. SCRC also holds the George Mason University Archives.
The Special Collections Research Center is staffed by professionals who specialize in preserving and providing access to primary research materials (such as documents, photographs, posters, maps, and other records), and rare books. All are welcome to use the collections in the Reading Room, although the fragile and valuable nature of the materials requires compliance with routine special collections policies. The Seminar/Oral History Recording Room in the Center is used for teaching sessions and recording oral history interviews for the George Mason University Oral History Program. The Exhibitions space has rotating displays highlighting its collections, George Mason University history, and University collaborations. Take a few minutes to view the current exhibition.
Just beyond SCRC exhibition space is the University Dissertation & Thesis Services office (2005 Fenwick). George Mason University maintains established regulations for the format and appearance of all dissertations and theses produced at the University. Staff in this office help Mason faculty, staff, and students understand and comply with the policies and procedures required for producing dissertations and theses.
Return to the Atrium staircase and walk through the double doors into the towers. The words Connect & Learn are above the doorway.
