Fenwick Library Tour - Music Library & Digital Scholarship Center


This floor is home to the Music Library, which supports instructional, research and performance programs of Mason’s School of Music. The Library’s resources also supplement related academic departments, and enrich the music-related needs and interests of the University community. Musical scores, books, audio recordings (LP records and CDs), video recordings (VHS tapes and DVDs) are housed in the Music Library. Items are located through the Mason Libraries’ catalog and can be borrowed. The music subject librarian offers instruction and research assistance. The Music Library is a quiet study space.

Go to your right through the double doors. You are now in the Digital Scholarship Center (DiSC). The Digital Scholarship Center (DiSC) works with students, faculty, and staff to conduct, teach, and support digital research in all disciplines. DiSC services and programs include Data Services, data discovery & acquisition; text, numeric, and qualitative data analysis; Geographical Information Systems (GIS), geospatial data, spatial analysis; Digital Humanities, digital projects & tools, text mining, and research data management, data archiving & sharing and creating data management plans. An active study space, DiSC offers collaborative areas, special software and technology, research consultations and appointments as well as workshops. dsc.gmu.edu

Go back to the hallway by Special Collections, and take the interior stairs on your left or use the elevator to the third floor.
