Fenwick Library has more than 70 study rooms, with some specifically designated for graduate students on the 5th floor, and others scattered throughout the building for research, meetings, collaboration, and consultations. Rooms range in size from small to extra-large and are equipped with various technologies. To schedule any of these spaces use the room reservations system found on the library’s website at library.gmu.edu.

At the end of the hallway, on your left, you see the Main Reading Room. This space is used for academic events such as lectures, presentations, book talks and other special programs.

Look down the long hallway on your right. Subject librarians’ offices are located along the corridor. Subject librarians offer research related group instruction workshops, individual research consultations, and develop and maintain online research guides in the areas of science and technology, arts and humanities, and social sciences. They also offer instructional materials and tutorials in their respective subject areas, collaborate with faculty, and develop library collections to support research and teaching at Mason. Please note some subject librarians are located at other Mason Libraries. To make an appointment or access subject resources, visit at the librarians’ infoguides at library.gmu.edu.

Retrace your path back toward the Atrium staircase. Looking at the very end of the Research Commons, you see the Special Collections Research Center.
