Biography
I became the Engineering Librarian for George Mason University in summer 2022. Previously, I was the Engineering Librarian at the University of Akron (UA) in Ohio for 15 years. In addition to my years as a librarian, I was a student there having earned a BS and a MS in Electrical Engineering.
My research interests include engineering student information seeking behavior, library instruction best practices, use of LaTeX in academia, and web accessibility.
What I do at Mason Libraries
I am the subject liaison for the Volgeneau College of Engineering including bioengineering; civil, environmental, infrastructure engineering; cyber security engineering; electrical and computer engineering; mechanical engineering; systems engineering and operations research; data analytics engineering; and the programs therein.
Some things that I do are as follows.
Provide Instructional support by
- tailoring library instructional sessions to an assignment in
- virtual (via Zoom or an online module) or
- in-person; and
- collaborating in creating materials to use in assignments.
I help faculty and students by
- providing research consultations and
- answering reference questions.
I purchase library materials with available funding and I take purchase and library resource trial requests.
