Fenwick Library Tour - Graduate Student Research Spaces

Fifth floor is dedicated to Graduate Student Research Spaces. These floors provide individual reserved graduate study carrels, assigned to specific graduate students for an academic term. Dissertation writers’ rooms, also assigned to specific Mason PhD students each semester, are located in the fifth floor towers. Room 5003 is the Graduate Student Silent Reading Room. Mason print theses and dissertations are also located in the Graduate Research Zone in the 5th floor tower floors.

Please respect the fact that the majority of the carrels and all of the rooms are dedicated for use by graduate students only. If you are studying in an assigned carrel, you may be asked to study elsewhere so the assigned student can use their specific space.

Enter the book stacks through the double doors with Connect & Learn above the doorway.

Graduate student reserved carrels are assigned by a drawing held each term. Doctoral students who have passed comprehensive exams and are in good standing with the University and University Libraries are eligible to sign up on a first-come, first-served basis for dissertation writers’ rooms. More information is available at Reservable Graduate Writing Space.

Thanks for taking the tour! To return to the 1st floor, take either the elevators in the book stacks or in the addition.
